It’s always a massive pleasure working with local artists and venues. Fact of the matter is, what they say is true – Local is lekke!
Industrial Coffee Works is a well-known good-time-hotspot based in Centurion, Gauteng.
Under a high-peak pole tent, which would later be illuminated with multi-colour brush strokes, were artists busy setting up their gear. The stage platform was equipped and prepared with dBTechnologies stage monitor wedges, di-boxes, mic stands, and all the equipment any artist needed to perform at their best. We felt privileged to have worked with these outstanding artists. With all the on-stage equipment connected to a stage snake-box running to the sound engineer’s booth, through the Allen & Heath Qu24 digital mixer, our live-sound engineers delivered great sound from the source (mics and guitar pickups) throughout the whole venue.
The sound system adequately flooded the entire venue with the magical voices and music created by Bad Peter and Zaan Sonnekus on the stage. Completely unaware of the technical expertise at play, the fully packed audience was enthralled by the stage lighting while enjoying their pizza and beer.
It was surprising to see a sold-out show (full capacity due to covid-19 regulations) on a 4-degree Celsius night. I guess the great vibe and quality music kept us warm.
From behind the sound engineer’s booth, we always stretch our best efforts to make a live show as enjoyable as possible to quench the crowd’s thirst for musical indulgence.
What a success! The stage structure setup, the on-stage and off-stage lighting with wash lights, mood lights, and moving heads, all synchronised with on-stage and front-of-house sound, satisfied both the crowd, the artists and the Son Sound team.
