For decades, legendary vocalists used the AKG C535 to bring their voices to the world. Last year, we redesigned that classic mic to bring you the AKG C636—the all-new master reference condenser microphone for live vocals. Now, with the C636 WL1 we’ve taken the same advances found in the C636, and incorporated them into a wireless head for AKG DMS800 and WMS4500 systems.

If you’ve ever tried to bring a studio mic on stage, you know they’re too delicate to stand up to the task. The C636 WL1 proprietary double shock suspension system greatly reduces handling noise, even during the most energetic on-stage performances. Its capsule sits on a highly absorbent rubber bearing, eliminating any structure-based noise, while an adjustable balancing network cancels vibrations over a wide frequency range. In addition, a substantial brass layer below the capsule serves as a counterweight that increases stability and delivers cleaner acoustics.

A consistent cardioid polar pattern eliminates troublesome feedback. A triple layer noise-rejection system lets you sing without vocal pops. And the C636 WL1 doubles-down on keeping your performance flawless by incorporating a state-of-the-art, multi-layer pop noise rejection system that eliminates plosives and a road-tested, cardioid polar pattern that eliminates feedback. Made with hand-selected components and manually tuned for a pure transparent tone, the new C636 WL1 head retains the spirit of the classic AKG C535 condenser microphone, while being re-engineered to meet the demands of today’s top vocal performers. The C636 WL1 is designed to fit the DMS800 and WMS4500 wireless systems.

Shipping Policy

Son Sound delivers countrywide (South Africa - not outside the borders of South Africa), at the shipping rates charged in the shopping cart/checkout - depending on the item(s) and order. Please provide your delivery address on checkout. All deliveries will be booked on economy road freight, which means 2-5 business days delivery from date of order - depending on your location.

Refund Policy

Due to the vast number of products on our store, it is not possible to keep al prices and availability up to date. Therefore, customers are prompted to first confirm prices and availability before placing an order and making an online payment.

SON SOUND will either give a store credit, exchange or refund on any online purchase within 7 days under the following terms and conditions:

  • If a product\'s price has changed or not available and an order was placed and paid online without the customer confirming the latest price and availability, SON SOUND will refund the customer the full paid amount MINUS 3.5% up to 5% (depending on the payment method the customer used) - which is the service fee charged by our payment gateway provider.
  • If the product was delivered and the customer is not happy with the product, the product must be returned at the customer\'s expense, upon which SON SOUND will accept the return provided that the product packaging has not been severely damaged and the product has not been used, installed or show physical damages. Products must be returned in its original packaging. Three and a half percent (3.5%) of the purchase price will be deducted if payment was made online as payment gateway service fee.
  • Software products cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • Products will not be refunded or exchanged due to incompatibility. Please check compatibility information before placing an order.
  • Credits, exchanges or refunds can only be granted after the product has been returned and inspected (and tested) by trained technical staff to determine if the condition of the returned product grants a credit, refund or exchange. Items cannot be credited, exchanged or refunded before this procedure has been completed. Depending on the product and our supplier, it may take any time from 5-20 working days to process.
  • A delivery fee will be charged again whenever the product is replaced with the same or another.
  • If an out-of-box defect can be determined or any defects covered under the manufacturer\'s warrantee, such warrantee will be honored.

SON SOUND adheres to the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa and will base any return on the statutes of the Act.
