PRO SERIES CAT5E-5M

The CAT5E-5M ruggedised Cat5e cable provides a bidirectional digital audio network data link and features Neutrik etherCON NE8MC-1 connector carriers with an integral O-ring gasket to achieve IP54 water protection for high reliability, especially desirable in concert touring and festival applications. When used with MIDAS PRO and M Series and KLARK TEKNIK products equipped with HyperMAC and copper snake interfaces, the CAT5E-5M cable can transmit up to 192 bidirectional channels of 24 bit digital audio at 96 kHz sample rate. CAT5E-5M also supports 24 bidirectional channels and 48 bidirectional channels at 96 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates respectively for AES50 connections. CAT5E-5M can also be used for standard Ethernet applications, and is suitable for both 100 Mbit/s and Gigabit networks.

The CAT5E-5M cable uses highly durable upjacketed Belden 1305A unscreened cable with a nominal 7.6 mm diameter. The 1305A cable features 24 AWG bonded-pair stranded (7/32) copper conductors with polyolefin insulation and both inner and outer PVC protective jackets.

Architecture and Engineering Specifications

The network cable shall be intended for use to provide digital audio multi-channel network data link and snake connections and be capable of bidirectional operation.

The network cable shall provide transmission of up to 192 bidirectional channels of 24 bit digital audio at 96 kHz sample rate.

The network cable shall also be suitable for standard Ethernet applications and meet the requirements for a Cat5e cable, and shall be suitable for use in both 100 Mbit/s and Gigabit networks.

The network cable shall be 5 metres in length.

The network cable shall use Belden 1305A cable.

The network cable shall be fitted with Neutrik etherCON NE8MC-1 connector carriers.

The network cable connector carriers shall be protected to the IP54 standard for water protection by an integral O-ring seal.

The network cable shall be the MIDAS CAT5E-5M and no other alternative shall be acceptable.

Shipping Policy

Son Sound delivers countrywide (South Africa - not outside the borders of South Africa), at the shipping rates charged in the shopping cart/checkout - depending on the item(s) and order. Please provide your delivery address on checkout. All deliveries will be booked on economy road freight, which means 2-5 business days delivery from date of order - depending on your location.

Refund Policy

Due to the vast number of products on our store, it is not possible to keep al prices and availability up to date. Therefore, customers are prompted to first confirm prices and availability before placing an order and making an online payment.

SON SOUND will either give a store credit, exchange or refund on any online purchase within 7 days under the following terms and conditions:

  • If a product\'s price has changed or not available and an order was placed and paid online without the customer confirming the latest price and availability, SON SOUND will refund the customer the full paid amount MINUS 3.5% up to 5% (depending on the payment method the customer used) - which is the service fee charged by our payment gateway provider.
  • If the product was delivered and the customer is not happy with the product, the product must be returned at the customer\'s expense, upon which SON SOUND will accept the return provided that the product packaging has not been severely damaged and the product has not been used, installed or show physical damages. Products must be returned in its original packaging. Three and a half percent (3.5%) of the purchase price will be deducted if payment was made online as payment gateway service fee.
  • Software products cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • Products will not be refunded or exchanged due to incompatibility. Please check compatibility information before placing an order.
  • Credits, exchanges or refunds can only be granted after the product has been returned and inspected (and tested) by trained technical staff to determine if the condition of the returned product grants a credit, refund or exchange. Items cannot be credited, exchanged or refunded before this procedure has been completed. Depending on the product and our supplier, it may take any time from 5-20 working days to process.
  • A delivery fee will be charged again whenever the product is replaced with the same or another.
  • If an out-of-box defect can be determined or any defects covered under the manufacturer\'s warrantee, such warrantee will be honored.

SON SOUND adheres to the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa and will base any return on the statutes of the Act.
