Description

The matte black KM 185 MT Microphone from Neumann is a hypercardioid pattern, pressure gradient condenser microphone intended for live sound reinforcement and broadcast, as well as recording applications.

The KM 180 series microphones feature an output stage based on the KM 100. Transformerless circuitry and balanced output result in high output gain with a very low noise floor and no coloration to the output signal.

The KM 185 MT is powered via 48V phantom power. Its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response provides flexibility for use in a wide range of recording situations. The KM 185 provides attenuation at the off-axis sections of the mic, and is suitable for X,Y and ORTF stereo miking, announcer’s mic for broadcast, spot capturing of drum overheads, strings, wind instruments, percussion, piano, and amp cabinets. The KM 185 handles sound pressure levels up to 142 dB allowing close miking of instruments high in transient (peak) level response.

Hypercardioid Polar Pattern

The hypercardioid polar pattern offers greater attenuation at the off-axis sections of the microphone, resulting in a tighter pattern with even less noise caused by ambiance.
 

KM 100 Based Output Stage

The KM 185 features the same output stage electronics as the KM 100. Transformerless circuitry and quiet balanced output design ensure a clean, high-gain output signal without any coloration. The KM 185 is powered via 48V phantom power, and its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response provides flexibility for use in a wide range of recording situations. The KM 185 can handle sound pressure levels up to 142 dB, allowing fairly close miking of instruments.

Shipping Policy

Son Sound delivers countrywide (South Africa - not outside the borders of South Africa), at the shipping rates charged in the shopping cart/checkout - depending on the item(s) and order. Please provide your delivery address on checkout. All deliveries will be booked on economy road freight, which means 2-5 business days delivery from date of order - depending on your location.

Refund Policy

Due to the vast number of products on our store, it is not possible to keep al prices and availability up to date. Therefore, customers are prompted to first confirm prices and availability before placing an order and making an online payment.

SON SOUND will either give a store credit, exchange or refund on any online purchase within 7 days under the following terms and conditions:

  • If a product\'s price has changed or not available and an order was placed and paid online without the customer confirming the latest price and availability, SON SOUND will refund the customer the full paid amount MINUS 3.5% up to 5% (depending on the payment method the customer used) - which is the service fee charged by our payment gateway provider.
  • If the product was delivered and the customer is not happy with the product, the product must be returned at the customer\'s expense, upon which SON SOUND will accept the return provided that the product packaging has not been severely damaged and the product has not been used, installed or show physical damages. Products must be returned in its original packaging. Three and a half percent (3.5%) of the purchase price will be deducted if payment was made online as payment gateway service fee.
  • Software products cannot be exchanged or refunded.
  • Products will not be refunded or exchanged due to incompatibility. Please check compatibility information before placing an order.
  • Credits, exchanges or refunds can only be granted after the product has been returned and inspected (and tested) by trained technical staff to determine if the condition of the returned product grants a credit, refund or exchange. Items cannot be credited, exchanged or refunded before this procedure has been completed. Depending on the product and our supplier, it may take any time from 5-20 working days to process.
  • A delivery fee will be charged again whenever the product is replaced with the same or another.
  • If an out-of-box defect can be determined or any defects covered under the manufacturer\'s warrantee, such warrantee will be honored.

SON SOUND adheres to the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa and will base any return on the statutes of the Act.
